NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Posted in Poker on 06/09/2023 07:25 am by FelipePhil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player in the world by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the negative comments from others destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated a number of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is very humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
