Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the last game in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest players anywhere in the world. While gambling on online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe television can skew our perception of the real world at times. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes Omaha and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money rounds?
