Fix Attention on Annie Duke
Posted in Poker on 07/19/2012 10:21 am by FelipeAnnie Duke might not have captured her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is still one of the most feared poker competitors around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run amok following a huge success at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her 4 kids. She hails from NH and grew up in a family of poker players. If you don’t accept that, check out her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, Howard taught her the best method to compete in the game.
However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has earned her share of challenging tables, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.
Earning well over three million dollars in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who wished to build up his skills to become a force at the poker table.
You might just encounter her at the Bellagio, you’ll see her on television and you may even play against her in a net poker game, but don’t count on a simple win. Unless you are a up and coming master, you’ll not defeat her. However, it is likely to be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
